The problem to solve

Katie ventured out on her own 4 years ago as Katie Hale – self-employed Marketing Consultant after working for various Marketing & PR agencies.

She didn’t see herself as having her own business, she saw herself as ‘self-employed’ and therein lies the problem… Passionate about what she delivered the clients came in thick and fast, but it became a whirlwind with no structure – Katie was working all hours, with no downtime and little control.

Katies first thoughts:

I met Clare through networking and took her up on the offer of the complimentary ‘Kickstart Session’. I didn’t have any expectations. I didn’t believe for a minute that someone would be able to tell me what I was doing wrong or that someone could help me improve my business in a short amount of time. We talked about some of the issues I was having and lack of balance of my time and the knock-on effect of what clients were getting from me. I had a vision for my business, but was unsure of how to achieve it…

Making it happen

It was important for Katie to identify her strengths and the values that were important to her. Clients would always buy into her ability to build relationships and the passion for creating compelling marketing, but she needed clarity on how to build this into an offer that would give her a competitive edge.

Working with Clare, Katie fulfilled her ambition of a re-brand, fined tuned her offerings by pulling together her ‘marketing packages’ to really showcase the value she would add to any business. These gave her the confidence to take them to market and attract the type of clients she wanted, and her prospective clients knew what to expect from working with her new business – Halestorm Marketing!

Once Katie clearly defined what she was delivering and who she was delivering to…the easier it was to attract the right clients and her confidence grew – alongside her business.

The coaching programme helped Katie focus on the process around her customer journey, from enquiry through to project completion, which meant clients were receiving a consistently great service. The programme prevented Katie from giving away her time, expertise, and knowledge for free which released time for dedicated client work resulting in happier clients and a more productive Katie.

The Results

Fast forward 12 months.

Katie now sees herself as a business owner, the shift in mind-set has boosted her confidence and having the right processes in place means she can deliver consistently. She has brand assets that reflect her work and is now working with a full roster of clients who are on a variety of marketing packages that feed into her skills and passions. From one off projects through to working with business’ longer term to achieve clear and consistent brand communications there is a solution for everyone.

She has is enjoying a 28% increase in turnover which has is allowing her to spend more time with her young family.
